The typical weakness of OLEDs

The Evo panel installed in the C2 can handle direct reflections and ambient light a bit better. However, both models are not free of reflections and only differ comparatively little from each other in this field.

Depending on the incidence angle of the light source and scene brightness, annoying spotlightsΒ can occur and disrupt your viewing experience.

LED-LCD top models of the competitors still stay ahead due to the difference in maximum luminance and the quite often better reflection behavior and are overall more advantageous in very bright room conditions.

The Evo Panel flexes its muscles

As expected, the LG OLED evo C2 can score a few points on the C1 due to the slightly higher peak brightness.Β This is particularly noticeable when it comes to displaying bright details in HDR content. However, to be honest, the difference is not massive.

Smart TVs with a slight drawback

While the older webOS 6.0 is still at home in the C1, the new webOS 22 is around the corner in the follow-up model.

The new edition of LG’s operating system features the so-called Hands Free Voice Control. This allows you to talk to the ThinQ AI of the C2 without using the Magic Remote Control.

LG now also offers you the option to create your own user profiles and adjust them for each person. Due to the flat design, both TVs in our LG OLED C1 vs LG OLED evo C2 comparison lack a powerful bass.

You have found a bug and want to point it out to us? Report error

Regardless of whether you choose the LG OLED C1 or the upgrade to the LG OLED evo C2. Both TVs are among the real top models in this price range and deliver a consistently first-class viewing experience in almost all test categories.

Especially in terms of gaming features, both top models leave nothing more to be desired. You will only have problems in very bright light conditions. However, you can easily protect yourself against this with a good curtain.

Should I buy the C2 if I already own the C1? At this point, a very clear “No!” is our answer. If you’re already the proud owner of a C1, we don’t think it’s worth buying the C2. Although the C2 is noteworthy for its integrated Evo panel, it is only a slight improvement overall.
