OLED Lineup

What characterises this product line? In recent years, LG has continuously added new products to its TV portfolio and developed them further in terms of performance. For example, the A-series launched in 2021 will receive a successor in the 2022 line-up. Furthermore, other product lines, such as the popular C-series, benefit from the so-called OLED.EX technology, which has already been installed in the Gallery model G1 and pushes the brightness values even higher.

Entry Level TV

A2 Series

If you are looking for an affordable TV that still offers high quality, the LG OLED A2 could be a good choice for you. This model is particularly suitable for beginners who don’t want to spend too much money.

However, you will have to make some compromises with this model. Compared to the B2, this OLED has a lower refresh rate of 60 hertz and offers slightly less peak brightness. As a result, HDR content is not reproduced quite as brilliantly as on the more expensive versions.

Nevertheless, the A2 also has dynamic Dolby Vision IQ and is powered by a 5th generation A5 processor, which you will also get in the B2 model. This gives you good performance in terms of picture optimisation and navigation.

However, if you’re an avid gamer, you’ll notice that the A2 may not be as well suited for you due to the lack of a 120 Hertz panel. Modern consoles will therefore not benefit as much from this TV.

B2 Series

As part of the 2022 line-up, LG offers the B2 with an excellent price-performance ratio, positioning this TV as a lower-cost alternative below the LG OLED CS9. Like its predecessor, the device impresses with its outstanding picture performance and viewing angle stability that is hard to beat.

A 5th generation Alpha7 processor powers this television and ensures seamless navigation as well as smooth display of picture content, which is particularly advantageous for intermediate picture calculation.

In terms of gaming equipment, the B2 leaves little to be desired and offers everything that TVs currently have to offer. This includes two HDMI 2.1 interfaces with ALLM and VRR, Dolby Vision Gaming and 4K with 120 frames per second.

WebOS 22 also offers additional features such as the ability to create individual user profiles so that the TV can be pre-configured for each user.

CS6 Series

The LG OLED CS6 is a kind of hybrid solution between the C1 and C2 versions. This TV was developed to offer improved performance, but without changing the panel. Unlike the C2, the CS6 therefore lacks OLED.EX technology.

However, a 5th generation Alpha9 unit, which provides better processing and smoother navigation through the operating system, is on board. With the upgraded control, the CS6 is positioned just behind its bigger brother in the line-up.

Altogether, this TV maintains a sleek design and offers excellent picture quality, with OLED technology providing an impressive contrast ratio.

Its additional features include a fast response time, support for HDR10, HLG and Dolby Vision. A wide viewing angle without colour or brightness shifts completes the deal.

C2 Series

The LG OLED evo C2 is a member of LG’s popular C-series that aims to continue the success story of its predecessors. A special innovation in the C2 is the built-in Evo panel, which was already used in the LG OLED evo G1 from the 2021 model year. This further enhances the already excellent picture performance.

OLED-typical advantages are again a wide viewing angle, which also offers a perfect view to larger groups of spectators, and the uniform representation of colour fields. The picture reproduction remains clean and free of unwanted spots or dark corners.

Especially for gaming fans, the LG OLED evo C2 offers several features that optimally support modern consoles such as the Playstation 5 or Xbox Series X|S. These include extremely low input lag and virtually no motion blur during gaming. This is made possible by the powerful 5th generation A9 4K AI processor in combination with the 120 Hz panel. HDMI 2.1 enables gaming at 4K with 120 frames per second.

Owners of a next-gen Xbox also benefit from the Dolby Vision Gaming colour space simulation, which enables an even greater variety of displayable colours. Overall, the LG OLED evo C2 offers a comprehensive equipment package and many gaming features that make it an attractive TV for demanding users.

G2 Series

The performance of the LG OLED evo G2 even surpasses that of the LG C2. The reason for this is the OLED evo panel, which gives the TV an even higher brightness compared to the other models in LG’s 2022 OLED line-up.

In addition, the G2 has a heat sink that protects the sensitive pixels from overheating. As a result, the TV performs even better in bright environments and can display HDR content more brilliantly.

However, the differences between the G1 and C1 are not very big. Ultimately, the price difference will decide which model you prefer. However, it is undeniable that the G2 with its gallery design is a real eye-catcher and beautifies the living room even when switched off.

In terms of connectivity, smart features and gaming functions, both TVs are equally well equipped. So you won’t have to compromise between these two.

Z2 Series

The LG OLED Z2 is a top-of-the-line model and is one of the most powerful 8K OLEDs on the market. LG offers this TV in two sizes, 77 and 88 inches. However, both variants are very expensive and are priced at 15,000 euros and 30,000 euros respectively. The high-performance 5th generation Alpha 9 processor and automatic scaling from 4K to 8K content via an AI 8K upscaling feature is also included .

On the bigger of the two variants, you will see an eye-catching silver stand. Compared to the 4K top model G2, however, you will have to do without the brighter Evo panel and a heatsink with the Z2. Nevertheless, the typical OLED contrast of the panel ensures impressive colour reproduction and a perfect black level.

The 120 Hertz panel guarantees smooth playback, even with fast scene changes and a lot of action on the screen. In addition, the LG OLED Z2 8K screen comes with Dolby Vision IQ, HDR Pro and HLG support.

However, for a complete home theater experience, it is advisable to include high-quality surround sound. Although the TV can create a virtual 7.1.2 surround impression, for a model in this price range we advise exploiting the full potential with a high-quality home cinema system.

ART90

The LG OLED evo ART90 differs from other TVs with its unique design that resembles a canvas on an easel. The TV either mounts to the wall or leans against a flush surface to look like a piece of art in a gallery. Since the TV is only available in 65 inches, it may not be suitable for larger rooms.

The highlight of the TV is the movable cover, which is stretched with a durable fabric. It can cover almost the entire screen, so that only important information such as the weather, date or time is displayed.

As with the LG OLED evo G2, the ART90 also has a Gallery Mode that displays artwork when the TV is not in use. Technically, the device has a 4K display with 120 Hz. The built-in Evo panel also makes the screen brighter than a conventional OLED.

evo Posé

With the LG OLED evo Posé, you can bring another design TV into your home. In terms of size, there are a 42″, 48″ and 55″ version available. A special feature of the Posé is its durable textile fabric in beige.

A storage compartment on the back of this picture frame TV allows you to stow away records, magazines or a power strip, so that the device remains functional even in the middle of the room. With its very special stand, the Posé gives the impression of a work of art on an easel.

In addition, you get the familiar Gallery Mode from the G-series to display pictures and real paintings on the screen as soon as the TV is not in use.

In terms of technical data, this model can keep up with its big brothers, as it has the same inner values as the LG OLED evo G2. 120 hertz at a 4K resolution is therefore no hurdle.

NanoCell Lineup

What characterises this product line? In 2022, LG will continue to offer so-called NanoCell models in different sizes and equipment variants. The main advantage of the screen technology developed by the South Korean company is the more precise colour representation and a higher colour volume.

Entry Level TV

NANO76 Series

The LG Nano76 has an IPS panel that provides a wide viewing angle with clear colours and is available in sizes from 43 to 86 inches. The model also supports HDR technology, which makes contrasts and colours particularly realistic.

The smart TV functions of the LG Nano76 are quite well. The webOS 22 operating system allows easy access to streaming services such as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video or Disney+. Voice control via Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa is possible.

The slim design and the narrow frame are particularly worth highlighting. Overall, the LG Nano76 offers a good colour display and is a cost-effective solution for the wallet.

NANO81 Series

The LG Nano81 uses an IPS-based UHD display. Thanks to NanoCell technology, colours are displayed more precisely and a high viewing angle stability is achieved. This means you can also use the screen if you have a larger group of people without any significant restrictions in this area.

In addition to HDR10 and HLG, Dolby Vision is also supported – typical for LG. However, with a refresh rate of 60 hertz, the TV does not offer the best conditions for smooth playback of fast movements and action scenes.

While the included Magic Remote control ensures intuitive control, the in-house webOS 22 operating system allows access to various streaming services and additional connectivity features such as Apple AirPlay and Apple Homekit.

QNED Lineup

What characterises this product line? Unlike conventional LED TVs, QNED models work on the basis of a more advanced MiniLED backlight, which offers a higher number of LEDs per square millimetre. This technical approach is able to provide more precise local dimming, resulting in a higher contrast ratio and better colour representation.

Midrange TV

QNED81 Series

With the QNED81 from 2022, LG has a device in its portfolio that is particularly convincing due to its elegant design with solid workmanship. The special feature of the QNED81 is the use of QNED technology, a combination of nanocells and so-called quantum dots.

This technology ensures high picture performance including deep blacks, bright colours and good brightness values. Mini-LEDs with which a particularly fine local dimming is achieved, on the other hand, are only available starting with the QNED86 series and above.

An Alpha 7 Gen 5 processor does its work on the circuit board. In general, the Nano81 is more of a slim entry level device and therefore not aimed at demanding customers.

The TV is available in sizes ranging from a relatively small 50 inches to a huge 86 inches screen. This provides you with a broad selection for different room sizes.

UHD Lineup

What characterises this product line? Devices within the UQ segment are LG’s basic offering in the TV segment, so to speak, and are therefore often marketed as 4K entry level or even budget solutions aimed at small purses. Technically, this manifests itself in comparatively moderate contrast and often less convincing brightness values.

Budget TV

UQ8100 Series

With the UQ81, you can expect a low-priced UHD TV that nevertheless offers good workmanship and impresses with its great colour reproduction. The device is also well suited for group evenings.

However, the picture quality is affected due to the low contrast. The weak luminance of 300 nits is not enough to make bright details visible on the panel, which can cause the picture to lose detail when it gets too dark.

Gaming features such as an HDMI 2.1 interface and 120 hertz, which are required for next-gen games, are not present on the UQ81. Navigating through webOS 22 can also require patience.

A good choice if you’re looking for acceptable performance at a reasonable price. However, if you value a well-rounded picture quality with a strong black and a good HDR experience, this low-budget TV will not completely convince you.

Budget TV

UQ9100 Series

The 9100 series is also oriented more towards the budget or entry-level segment and saves on features and image performance. The brightness of just over 300 nits is only slightly higher than that of the 8100 series.

This means that this model is not only unsuitable for rooms flooded with light or in direct sunlight, but also lags behind in terms of HDR brilliance.

In addition, the contrast is comparatively weak, which makes black appear rather greyish on the screen. With the exception of the 86-inch version, which is equipped with a native 120 hertz panel and thus also HDMI 2.1 from LG, all smaller versions only have 60 hertz and thus also only HDMI 2.0.

With webOS 22, however, the UQ9100 offers an intuitive and user-friendly interface that is easy to navigate. The model also supports voice control via Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa.
