Due to the OLED construction meadow, the picture quality of the BX and CX is absolutely outstanding and it can, produce a great picture result especially in dark environments due to the theoretically infinite contrast ratio and perfect black. In addition, the BX has an extremely wide viewing angle so that the colors do not fade even at very extreme angles. Both TVs have been equipped with all the gaming features you could wish for the upcoming consoles, and Dolby Vision IQ is also on board, so the TV can adapt to the ambient brightness.

Since the two models are quite similar, the LG CX has all the qualities of the BX. However, it can become a bit brighter, which is especially useful for HDR content. Furthermore, it was equipped with 4 HDMI 2.1 interfaces and not 2 like the BX – one of them being the HDMI eARC interface. Furthermore, with the alpha 9 Gen3 it has a more powerful processor. The alpha 7 processor of the BX is not quite on the same level as the CX, especially when it comes to image processing. The CX has a better color gradient and can display HDR details more effectively.

Our conclusion:
Very similar - but still a clear winner

The bottom line is that both TVs are really outstanding and will probably satisfy most users. There is no general answer to the question whether the CX is worth the extra price compared to the BX. Yes, the CX is better than the BX, but whether it is worth it depends on the current price and how well you can cope with the surcharge. But I think 100 to 200 Euro extra charge for the CX is quite reasonable.

But the CX is available in the sizes 48 and 77 inch. So if you are interested in a LG OLED in this size you will have to buy the CX.
