The Samsung Q60T is the most affordable model in the QLED range from 2020, with a built-in VA panel with dual LED that delivers higher contrast and better black than previous generation TVs. It also supports uncompressed Dolby Atmos via Dolby True HD Codec. The smart features are based on Tizen 5.5 and run smoothly. Unfortunately there is no variable refresh rate. The motion handling is also not as good.

The Samsung RU7400 is an affordable alternative to the predecessor of the Samsung Q60T. Just like the Q60T, it doesn’t support VRR or local dimming, but still has deep blacks and good contrast. In direct comparison to the Q60T, the Dual LED and Dolby Atmos feature is missing. Moreover, the smart features are not so good, as the RU7400 works with Tizen 5.0. Nevertheless, it is a very potent device that is available at a much lower price, if you are lucky.

Attention. The Samsung RU7400 is an older TV for which the database is not up to date. Therefore, the ratings may differ.

2020 QLED or is the Premium UHD from the previous year sufficient?

At first glance, these two TVs don’t have much in common, but in fact, the Samsung Q60T and Samsung RU7400 are similar. In short, the RU7400 is a more affordable alternative to the Q60T that does without some features that not everyone needs. So if you don’t need VRR for gaming, don’t want the latest smart features and simply want a good picture with intense blacks, you can go for the RU7400.

On the other hand, if you want to experience the latest screen technology but can’t spend too much, the Samsung Q60T is better for you.
