Due to the comparatively very low price of the entry-level models, you have to reckon with penalties in some areas. Here we can already see that both TVs are only satisfactory in the area of reflections, fitting for the title “entry-level model”. However, it also has to be pointed out that both TVs are equally mediocre here and do not differ seriously.
The viewing angles of both QLEDS unfortunately also leave something to be desired. Thus, they are only suitable for a very limited viewing angle and not for larger groups of people or large seating areas.
In a direct comparison, Samsung Q60A vs Q60T, the differences are again imperceptible to the untrained eye. Both TVs provide a good picture considering the price range. The color gamut is particularly noteworthy here.
Unfortunately, both TVs do not have Dolby VisionDynamic HDR-format with a color depth of up to 12 Bits and Mastering of up to 10,000 Nits and a local dimming function, which is particularly unfortunate in the HDRHigh Dynamic Range – image/video with more dynamic range (contrast range) area. The main differences between the two TVs are in contrast and color gamut. In terms of contrast, the Samsung Q60T is noticeably superior and displays a good picture even in low-light conditions. The Q60A unfortunately falls behind in this respect. In return, it has a better color gamut.
Movie and series fans will certainly not be disappointed with the picture of these TVs, as both can definitely provide for a good movie night and are definitely sufficient for everyday life. However, they unfortunately cannot provide a cinema experience from your own sofa, which is not expected from these models.
Both TVs do not have a VRRVariable Refresh Rate – synchronizes the display’s refresh rate with the output refresh rate of the graphics card function and you will also look in vain for an HDMI 2.1 interface. Thus, the newer consoles and games cannot be used to their full potential. The remarkably low input delays should be emphasized, so gaming feels responsive.
The Samsung Q60A and also the Q60T are well suited for watching sports. Due to their solid picture and mediocre brightness, even bright rooms during the day are no problem. However, their merely mediocre response time has to be mentioned, which ensures that fast scenes can cause motion blur. Furthermore, the already mentioned viewing angle has to be taken into account, which can only provide a good picture at a narrow angle here. Thus, the TVs are not suitable for watching with a large group.
Both TVs offer everything around smart TV and the equipment is sufficient for most. Both feature the Tizen operating system, although the Q60A uses a newer version, and compared to the Q60t, it also has the usual Google, Alexa and Bixby voice assistants. Unfortunately, as mentioned, both lack HDMI 2.1.
The similarities between the Q60A and the Q60T are enormous and cannot be recognized by the average user at first glance. This is also shown by the direct comparisons, where the differences are only very small. In the comparison, Samsung Q60A vs Q60T, both TVs turn out equally mediocre for their relatively low price range. Β Due to the very small differences, we recommend buying the cheaper model, which can change on a daily basis due to offers or promotions. Thus, no “winner” can be determined in a direct comparison and, as often, it depends on personal preference. Either you focus on the better contrast of the Q60T or the better color gamut of the Q60A.
