The Sony A90J OLED is the ultimate Home Cinema TV! The built-in heatsink makes it even brighter than its competitor, which means that bright highlights can be staged better in High Dynamic Range. In addition, the Acoustic Surface Audio+ feature ensures that the sound comes from the center of the A90J’s screen. Unfortunately, we have to do without gaming features like VRR and ALLM on this OLED, but these only play a role for the Xbox Series X. The PlayStation 5 can also make optimal use of the A90J!

Sony is in the lead

Even though both TVs do really well in terms of reflections, you have to give the point to Sony here because it gets brighter with 890 nits. For an OLED, this is a really very good value. Still, this is complaining on a high level, since both TVs can really handle reflections well.

Impressive quality for SDR content

SDR content does not have to hide on either TV and looks great. Even though the LG OLED C1 scores slightly better in terms of color space, you have to give the image processing of Sony and thus the A90J the plus point here.

LG clearly at an advantage

The LG OLED C1 is and remains at the top of the gaming front here because it offers everything you can have at the moment. The Sony A90J is also a good choice, but you have to make do with fewer HDMI 2.1 ports here and wait for promised updates. However, if you only play on the PlayStation 5, you will not lack anything with the Sony OLED.

Our conclusion:
Front runners on both sides

In the comparison LG OLED C1 vs Sony A90J there is no clear winner, since both TVs are excellent models of the respective manufacturer. In the end, you should decide according to your own needs, since LG has the edge in gaming, but Sony can convince especially movie and series fans with its very natural picture processing. Here, the Sony TV can also score with the Acoustic Audio Surface+ feature, since the sound comes directly from the center of the screen.

However, the LG is ahead in gaming and especially if you have an Xbox Series X at home, you should always go for the LG OLED because only then Dolby Vision Gaming is supported. It also offers VRR, which Sony is supposed to update, but we still don’t know when that will happen.
