Artifact

In relation to displays, so-called artifacts represent image errors or distortions that impair the display quality. This phenomenon can occur for various reasons, such as poor signal quality, the hardware, or insufficiently accurate image processing, and manifests itself as pixel errors, longitudinal stripes, or blocking.
