Color resolution
Color resolution refers to the number of colors that a screen can display. As the resolution increases, the color differences and transitions in an image are displayed more finely. A low color resolution can lead to visible color patches or reduced color depth, which is referred to as “banding”. A high-quality display should support a high level resolution to ensure a more realistic and appealing representation of colors. Currently, 8- and 10-bit with up to 16.7 million and up to 1.07 billion possible colors are common.
